Walking and hiking

Walking in Setesdal is something that has to be experienced. From a relaxing walk to the Gloppefossen waterfall to multiple-day hikes in the surriounding mountains, the Setesdal have something to offer for anyone. Maps and detailed descriptions can be obtained at the reception.

Canoeing

Explore the highlands with a canoe. Rent a Canadien style canoe and paddle around a lake in the beautiful Austheie mountains. A unique experience. Costs are 350 kr per canoe per day.

Fishing

There is good trout fishing in the river and the mountain lakes. A fishing license for the whole municipality can be bought at the kiosk, we also have a limited supply of fishing gear.

Climbing

The Setesdal offers superb climbing. Within half an hour from the camping there are hundreds of bolted routes waiting to be explored. For more information visit: www.kletterninnorwegen.de

Kayaking

Kayaking for all ages on the river Otra, around the campsite. Kayaks can be borrowed for free at the reception (ask for a life jacket).

 

Boating and fishing

For those who love fishing we have rowing boats up in two mountain lakes with private fishing rights, catch the trout of a lifetime!

Guided walk

Come along with biologist and farmer David who, together with his family runs a small-scale organic farm in the unique cultural landscape of Flateland and Rygnestad.

We will visit cultural heritage sites, walk through unique flowering meadows, look for beaver traces and visit the late-medieval farm Rygnestadtunet. After approximately 2 hours we end our walk with a local-food tasting at Davids family farm.

Live folk music and more

During summertime we regularly organise events in the lavvu, the large traditional style tent which is the social center of the camping. We have evenings with traditional music and storytelling, a Setesdal quiz and open barbecue nights.
